Thomas Haver

Thomas Haver is a dedicated scientist and software developer with a strong educational foundation in (bio)physics. His professional journey includes significant experience in both research and technology leadership roles.

Most recently, he served as the Manager of Validation & Delivery at DBI, building upon his extensive background as a research scientist at three prominent research universities.

Prior to DBI, Mr. Haver held the position of Senior Application Architect and manager of enterprise automation at Huntington National Bank. In this role, he spearheaded the transition from manual testing to Ruby/Cucumber automation across the enterprise. He initially focused on developing and maintaining automation frameworks for Digital Channels, eventually expanding his leadership to encompass automation efforts for 73 applications throughout Huntington. This comprehensive responsibility included testing, metrics and reporting, data management, and environment control.

At Nationwide Financial, Mr. Haver operated within an Agile environment, rotating through roles as an Automation Tester, Requirements Analyst, and Application Developer. His work involved web automation testing using Ruby/Cucumber, defect tracking via Quality Center, and project management utilizing RTC/RRC. He also demonstrated leadership by facilitating the weekly Book Club and Automation Stand-up in iMedia.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Haver was a Research Fellow supported by the American Heart Association. His research centered on the role of water in regulating protein structure, dynamics, and function, employing femtosecond-resolved fluorescence upconversion. He also gained valuable experience as a graduate teaching assistant for physics, biology, and biophysics courses. His laboratory expertise spans experimental physics and biophysics, encompassing the development of lab protocols, research presentations, grant writing, and manuscript preparation.
